Duke redshirt junior Brian Moore has been tabbed to the 42-member Rimington Trophy Spring Watch List

Duke redshirt junior Brian Moore has been tabbed to the 42-member Rimington Trophy Spring Watch List. The Rimington Trophy is presented annually to the top center in college football.

A 6-2, 275-pound native of Coral Gables, Fla., Moore started the past two seasons at right guard for the Blue Devils before transitioning to center this spring. A two-time selection to the Academic All-ACC team, he helped Duke’s passing attack rank second in the ACC last fall as quarterback Sean Renfree became just the fourth player in school history to throw for 3,000 or more yards. The Duke offensive line ranked third in the league in sacks allowed per passing attempt as the Blue Devils boasted five players with 30 or more receptions for just the second time in school history.

Joining Moore on the list are Chris Anzevino (Kent State), Eloy Atkinson (UTEP), Mario Benavides (Louisville), Philiip Blake (Baylor), Ben Bojicic (Bowling Green), Colin Boss (Middle Tennessee State), Mike Brewster (Ohio State), Terence Brown (BYU), Ben Burkett (Northwestern), Thomas Byrd (Boise State), Mike Caputo (Nebraska), Nick Carlson (Wyoming), Tom Castilaw (Arkansas State), Braxton Cave (Notre Dame), Dillon Farrell (Iowa), Dalton Freeman (Clemson), Kevin Galeher (Western Michigan), Grant Garner (Oklahoma State), Garth Gerhart (Arizona State), Jeremiah Hatch (Kansas), A.J. Hawkins (Mississippi), Cam Holland (North Carolina), Tyler Horn (Miami), Grant Johnson (Oregon State), T.J. Johnson (South Carolina), Ben Jones (Georgia), Peter Konz (Wisconsin), Tyler Larsen (Utah State), P.J. Lonergan (LSU), Joe Madsen (West Virginia), Kai Maiava (UCLA), Blake McJunkin (SMU), David Molk (Michigan), Weston Richburg (Colorado State), Matt Smith (Kentucky), Darion Smith (UAB), William Vlachos (Alabama) and Scott Wedige (Northern Illinois).

Since its inception, the Rimington Trophy has raised over $2 million. The twelve-year old award is overseen by the Boomer Esiason Foundation, which is committed to finding a cure for cystic fibrosis and has raised over $86 million for CF Research.

Dave Rimington, the award's namesake, was a consensus first-team All-America center at the University of Nebraska in 1981 and 1982, during which time he became the John Outland Trophy's only double winner as the nation's finest college interior lineman.
