RS Freshman will be able to re-enroll after December

DURHAM, N.C. – Duke head football coach David Cutcliffe announced on Thursday that safety Issac Blakeney has been suspended from the university for failure to meet continuing academic eligibility requirements and will miss the 2011 season.

“Issac is a valuable member of the Duke Football family and I look forward to him returning to full eligibility in January of 2012,” said Cutcliffe.

A native of Monroe, N.C., Blakeney did not see game action as a freshman during the 2010 season.

Duke opens the 2011 season at home versus Richmond on September 3. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m.
