Five star SF hosts Coach K tonight

Semi Ojeleye

The first of this week's official visits will take place tonight when Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski and assistant Steve Wojciechowski make the trip to Ottawa, Kansas to visit five star small forward Semi Ojeleye.

Ranked as the nation's No. 7 small forward and the No. 22 overall player in the class of 2013 by Scout.com, Semi Ojeleye has already reduced his list down to four finalists: Duke, Stanford, Indiana, and Oregon. On Sunday night he'll take the next step in his recruiting process by hosting the Duke coaching staff for an in-home visit.

"I'm looking forward to talking with Coach K tonight," Ojeleye relayed by text. "I think it'll be a good experience and I'm excited."

Duke has long thought to be the leader in the process, and while Ojeleye denies any school is standing out from the others, he certainly has heaped praise on Coach K's program recently:

"Obviously, Duke has high standards academically and athletically, and Coach (Mike) Krzyzewski is obviously a great coach," Ojeleye told Scout.com recently. "I've got a lot of respect for them."

The visit will be the first time Semi's father, Ernest, has had a chance to sit down face to face with the Duke coaches, which could be a big factor. The elder Ojeleye has always championed education, and Krzyzewski is expected to make that a direct focus during the visit.

"Academics are surely one of my top factors," Semi told TDD. "The coaches recruiting me can re-assure my parents that where I'm going is a good academic school. Also, how I can be improved in their program as a player and how I can have an immediate impact in their program."

At this time no other in-home or other official visits are confirmed with Ojeleye. He has taken several unofficial visits, including a summer trip to Duke. That visit was without his father, but seemed to have made a lasting impression on the player.

"He sure likes Duke," the elder Ojeleye told the Kansas City Star following the trip. "He went on a tour there, and that is his No. 1 school choice right now. They talked to him early on and then they officially offered him when he was there. He enjoyed the visit."
