DURHAM, N.C. – Duke redshirt junior defensive end Justin Foxx underwent surgery on Tuesday to repair a ruptured ligament in the ring finger of his right hand. No timetable for his return to action has been set.
The surgery was performed by Dr. Dave Ruch, who serves as a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Chief of Duke’s Orthopaedic Hand Service.
A starter in each of Duke’s first two games this season, Foxx was credited with eight total tackles, 1.5 quarterback sacks and two quarterback pressures. In his 24-game collegiate career that includes 11 starting assignments, the Charlotte, N.C., native has amassed 60 tackles, 8.0 tackles for loss, 4.5 quarterback sacks, three quarterback pressures and one caused fumble.
