Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) cornerback Armond Hawkins (5-10, 170), is still waiting for his first offer, but a number of schools are staying in contact.
“I’m hearing from Cal, Notre Dame, Portland State, Oregon State and Arizona State,” said Hawkins.
The month of October will be busy for Hawkins, who has three official visits set.
“I’m taking an official visit to Cal this weekend then Arizona State (in late October),” said Hawkins.
And with his own recruitment picking up, Hawkins will visit Notre Dame at a separate date than an originally planned visit with his brother.
Hawkins said that Portland State is the closest to offering him, but several schools have written.
“I’ve heard from almost all the Pac-12, Boise State, Oklahoma, Nevada, Florida, Florida State, SMU, Rutgers, Ole Miss and Rice,” said Hawkins.
Before he heads to Berkeley, Arizona State and Cal will be at his game against Upland, a game loaded with prospects, including his brother, Chris, who he will take his three trips with.
“I think the visits will be a lot of fun,” said Hawkins. “Chris told me about his Washington one and the Cal one will be the first for me, so it should be really fun.”
Academically, Hawkins has a 3.3 GPA.
