International Alumni Update: Nov 6

On Saturday, DeMarcus Nelson and Red Star Belgrade continued their Adriatic League season hosting Szolnoki Olaj of Hungary and they had a great game on offense as they rolled to a 103-74 win.  DeMarcus had 8 points in 19 minutes.  Elton Brown had 17 points and 6 rebounds and their newest teammate, ex-Kent State player Mike Scott had 10 points.  In the loss, ex-San Diego player Brandon Gay had 10 points.  Here is the box score.

  In China, Krystal Thomas and the Jiangsu Phoenix had a game at Yunnan and lost 65-57.  Krystal had 16 points and 21 rebounds in 37 minutes.  Ex-UC Santa Barbara player Lindsay Taylor had 15 points in the win.

  In Turkey, Chante Black and Samsun got a solid 62-49 win in Istanbul over Besiktas.  Chante had 19 points and 20 rebounds after playing all 40 minutes.  Megan Frazee had 10 points.  Here is the box score.

  In France, Carrem Gay and Toulouse jumped out to an early lead against Arras before needing to hold on to earn the 67-58 win.  Carrem had 6 points and 6 rebounds in 23 minutes as she struggled with early foul trouble.  Demetress Adams had 18 points and 7 rebounds.  Here is the box score.

  Mistie Bass and Lyon struggled early with Landes, but built a lead in the second half for a 60-57 win.  Mistie had 6 points and 5 rebounds in 31 minutes.  Here is the box score.

  Shay Selby made her professional debut this weekend as she suited up for Strakonice in the Czech Republic.  They lost 94-71 to Valosun Brno as she had 8 points in 24 minutes.  In the win, ex-Texas player Ashley Fontenette had 22 points and 6 rebounds and ex-San Diego player Amber Sprague had 11 points and 9 rebounds.  Here is the box score.

  On Sunday, David McClure and Neptunas were facing Zalgiris Kaunas, but in the VTB United League and not the domestic Lithuanian League.  They struggled against the powerhouse and fell 90-62.  David had 6 points and 9 rebounds in 20 minutes.  In the win, ex-Houston player Oliver Lafayette had 15 points, ex-Seton Hall player Rimantas Kaukenas had 12 points, and ex-Cornell player Jeff Foote had 11 points and 7 rebounds.  Here is the box score.

  In Spain, Marty Pocius stepped into the starting lineup as Real Madrid returned to domestic league action against Murcia.  Marty finished with 8 points in 17 minutes in a 79-64 win.  Sergio Llull had 11 points as ex-Utah player Kim Tillie had 14 points and 9 rebounds and ex-Oral Roberts player Marcus Lewis had 10 points in the loss.  Here is the box score.

  Jon Scheyer and Gran Canaria were playing in their local Canary Islands rivalry game at Canarias and earned the 76-71 win.  Jon had 14 points in 29 minutes.  Spencer Nelson had 19 points and 7 rebounds, Brad Newley had 12 points, and Ryan Toolson had 11 points.  In the loss, ex-Western Michigan player Levi Rost had 14 points and 7 rebounds.  Here is the box score.

  In a game that took place on Sunday in Australia, but late Saturday in the United States, Jess Foley and the Townsville Fire continued a tough stretch with a 76-63 loss to the Dandenong Rangers.  Jess had 2 points in 33 minutes as Kayla Standish had 17 points and 10 rebounds.  In the win, ex-Oklahoma State player Tegan Cunningham had 15 points and 8 rebounds and WNBA player Jenna O'Hea had 10 points.  Here is the box score.

On Monday, Shelden Williams and Chalon returned to French League action hosting Orleans.  The game was a shootout between one player from each team early with the home team building a second half lead before having to hold on at the end for an 85-80 win.  Shelden had 8 points and 7 rebounds in 20 minutes as Ilian Evtimov led the way with 26 points and 8 rebounds.  In the loss, ex-Oral Roberts player Caleb Green had 27 points and ex-Colorado player Brian  Greene had 13 points.  Here is the box score.
