International Alumni Update: Nov 20

Tracking former Blue Devils playing their professional ball overseas

On Saturday, Jess Foley and the Townsville Fire lost a close one 70-64 to the Bulleen Boomers.  Jess had 17 points in 36 minutes and Kayla Standish had 12 points and 8 rebounds.  Here is the box score.

  Krystal Thomas and the Jiangsu Phoenix faced Beijing Great Wall and lost 78-68.  Krystal had 18 points and 9 rebounds.  Here is the box score.

  Chante Black and Samsun had a solid start before falling 77-61 to Canik Belediye.  Chante had 9 point and 5 rebounds in 38 minutes and Megan Frazee had 11 points.  In the win, ex-Minnesota player Janel McCarville had 20 points and 16 rebounds ex-LSU player Doneeka Hodges had 16 points.  Here is the box score.

  Mistie Bass and Lyon faced Mondeville and struggled to score in a 63-52 loss.  Mistie had 4 points in 14 minutes and Danielle Page had 14 points.  In the win, ex-Missouri player Amanda Lassiter had 15 points and 6 rebounds.  Here is the box score.

  Sheana Mosch is still waiting to be able to suit up for Charleville.  The team website has an interview with her where she reiterates her commitment to the team, but one has to wonder whether she should start looking for a new team or not.  This week her team faced Carrem Gay and Toulouse and lost 67-54 as they continue to play shorthanded.  Carrem had 6 points in 21 minutes before fouling out and Demetress Adams had 11 points and 8 rebounds.  Here is the box score.

  On Sunday, Jasmine Thomas and Chevakata had a tough test against powerhouse UMMC Ekaterinburg, which did not even need all of its superstars firing on all cylinders to roll to a 75-47 win.  Jasmine had 6 points and 6 points in 29 minutes as she was missing her usual running mate Glory Johnson.  In the win, Candace Parker had 16 points and 10 rebounds, Sandrine Gruda had 15 points and 8 rebounds, and Deanna Nolan had 10 points.  Here is the box score.

  Shay Selby enjoyed her first professional win as Strakonice beat Pardubice 77-51.  Shay had 20 points in 32 minute as ex-Michigan State player Brittney Thomas joined the team.  Here is the box score.

  Monique Currie got her first taste of the domestic Romanian league as CSM Targoviste faced Timisoara and rolled to a 78-50 win.  Monique had 12 points and 6 rebounds in 22 minutes and Gabriela Marginean had 18 points.  In the loss, ex-Georgia Southern player Tiffany Brown had 12 points.  Here is the box score.

  Jon Scheyer and Gran Canaria had a wild game at Murcia that went into overtime before they could pull out a 99-97 win.  Jon had an unusually quiet 12 minutes.  Ryan Toolson had 29 points, Eulis Baez had 21 points and 7 rebounds, Brad Newley had 17 points, and Spencer Nelson had 15 points and 6 assists.  In the loss, ex-Oral Roberts player Marcus Lewis had 23 points and 6 rebounds, ex-DII player David Barlow had 19 points and 8 rebounds, ex-Utah player Kim Tillie had 14 points and 7 rebounds, and ex-Iowa player Matt Gatens had 12 points.  Here is the box score.

  Marty Pocius and Real Madrid got another league win as they beat Assignia Manresa 97-84.  In another one of those lineup switches, Marty got the start and had 6 points in 17 minutes as he battled some foul trouble.  Rudy Fernandez had 18 points, Sergio Llull had 14 points and 6 rebounds, and Jaycee Carroll had 12 points.  In the loss, ex-New Mexico player Troy DeVries had 23 points, ex-Tulsa player Charles Ramsdell had 17 points, and ex-Michigan player Josh Asselin had 13 points.  Here is the box score.

  Shelden Williams and Chalon ended up playing an exciting game as they beat Cholet 99-95.  Shelden had 14 points and 10 rebounds in 27 minutes.  Ilian Evtimov, Blake Schilb, and Brion Rush each had 19 points.  In the loss, ex-West Virginia player Marcus Goree had 22 points and 6 rebounds, ex-Missouri player Travon Bryant had 19 points and 8 rebounds, ex-Oklahoma player Terrell Everett had 19 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists, ex-UT Arlington player Derrick Obasohan had 13 points, and ex-Furman player Karim Souchu had 11 points.  Here is the box score.

  DeMarcus Nelson and Red Star Belgrade were in Adriatic League action hosting Krka Novo Mesto of Slovenia and they continued their strong run with a 79-61 win.  DeMarcus had 10 points in 25 minutes and Elton Brown had 15 points and 12 rebounds.  Here is the box score.

  On Monday, Karima Christmas and Maccabi Ramat Hen faced Ramat Hasharon and used a late comeback to send the game into overtime before losing 86-83.  Karima had 20 points and 9 rebounds in 35 minutes.  Jenna Smith had 21 points and 20 rebounds and Cetera DeGraffenreid had 14 points.  In the win, ex-Cal player Alexis Gray-Lawson had 20 points and 6 rebounds, ex-UConn player Kaili McLaren had 18 points and 11 rebounds, ex-DII player Brasheeda Elohim had 14 points, and ex-Middle Tennessee State player Alysha Clark had 11 points and 11 rebounds.  Here is the box score.

David McClure and Neptunas were back in VTB United League action in Russia against Nizhny Novgorod, but lost 84-63.  David had 3 points and 10 rebounds in 26 minutes.  In the win, ex-NBA player Primoz Brezec had 18 points and 6 rebounds.  Here is the box score.

  The teams of players that played at Duke before transferring are now known after Taylor King was signed by the Dacin Tigers in Taiwan.  Chris Burgess is playing for Baniyas in the United Arab Emirates.  Olek Czyz is playing for Virtus Roma in Italy.  Eric Boateng is playing for Braunschweig in Germany.  Jamal Boykin is playing for GasTerra Flames out of Groningen in the Netherlands.
