Erick Green -- Green is the best scorer in the ACC right now, and it isn't even close. He puts up points in a variety of ways and even though Virginia Tech has struggled this year he is the type of talent that can win a game anytime he takes the court.

Virginia 73, VT 55 The Hokies lost at Virginia, 73-55, on Tuesday night in JPJA ... Erick Green was the only Hokie in double figures, scoring 22 points, 21 of which came in the second half ... Tech turned the ball over just nine times and rebounds were even at 33 each, but Tech shot just 34.6 percent from the field and 57.9 percent from the line in the loss.

When C.J. Barksdale recorded his first career double-double in the overtime win at Georgia Tech, he became the fourth Hokie to record a double-double this season (and the third to record his first career double-double this season) ... This is the first season since the 2007-08 season that four different Hokies have recorded a double-double (J.T. Thompson, Jeff Allen, A.D. Vassallo and Deron Washington) ... That season was the third-consecutive year that the Hokies had four players record double-doubles.
Interesting Free Throw Note
In the Hokies' win over Wake Forest, Tech made eight of 16 free throw attempts, for 50 percent from the line ... The last time Tech shot 50 percent or worse from the line and won that basketball game came on Feb. 26, 2011 in Cassell Coliseum, when the Hokies made just eight of 19 attempts from the line and defeated No. 1 Duke, 64-60.
