Chris Collins will be leaving Duke after 13 years as an assistant coach.

Duke associate head coach Chris Collins is leaving Durham after 13 years on the bench. He will take over as the head coach at Northwestern, replacing Bill Carmody who was fired after missing the NCAA Tournament for 13 straight seasons.

The news was first reported by Jeff Goodman of CBSSports.

With Collins' departure, Nate James is expected to be promoted back to an assistant coach, joining associate head coach Steve Wojciechowski, and assistant coach Jeff Capel.

A formal announcement is expected to be made later on Wednesday.
