Tracking former Blue Devils playing their professional ball overseas

On Saturday, Jess Foley started her Central ABL season.  Even though she has retired from playing at the national league level, she has returned to the same state league team that she has played with for several offseasons, the Norwood Flames.  The team is still coming together, but they started defending their title with an 86-29 smashing of the Southern Tigers.  Jess had 18 points and 10 rebounds in 26 minutes.  Here is the box score.

  Lindsey Harding and Galatasaray had Game 1 of the Turkish League Quarterfinals.  As the second place team, they drew seventh place Antakya and won 67-61 at home.  Lindsey had 7 points in 21 minutes.  Sylvia Fowles had 18 points and 12 rebounds and Sancho Lyttle had 18 points and 12 rebounds.  In the loss, ex-Tennessee player Shekinna Stricklen had 15 points and 7 rebounds and ex-WNBA player Jana Vesela had 11 points.  Here is the box score.

  Alana Beard did not play as Wisla Krakow took Game 3 of the Polish League Semifinals 65-51 over Artego Bydgoszcz to take a 2-1 series lead.  Tina Charles had 22 points and 14 rebounds.  In the loss, ex-Syracuse player Julie McBride had 11 points, 7 assists, and 8 steals.  Here is the box score.

  It was the last week of games in the regular season in France and Mistie Bass and Lyon were playing for a playoff place against Tarbes and overcame a large deficit to win 65-60 to keep their season going.  Mistie had 21 points and 7 rebounds in 26 minutes to also seal another scoring title for herself.  In the loss, ex-Georgia player Angelica Robinson had 12 points and 13 rebounds and ex-Temple player Kristen McCarthy had 11 points and 7 rebounds.  Here is the box score.

  Sheana Mosch and Charleville had their season end with a 77-56 loss to Nantes.  Sheana had 16 points in 35 minutes to close out a pretty strong individual statistical season for her.  In the win, ex-Siena player Gunta Basko had 10 points.  Here is the box score.

  Carrem Gay and Toulouse saw their season end with a 92-64 loss to Landes as both she and her team proved that they belong at this higher level.  Carrem had 11 points in 26 minutes and Chay Shegog had 13 points.  In the win, ex-Lamar player Tamara Abalde had 13 points, ex-UAB player Carmen Guzman had 12 points, and ex-Kentucky player Jennifer Humphrey had 10 points.  Here is the box score.

  Shelden Williams and Chalon lost 86-71 to Nanterre.  Shelden had 11 points and 8 rebounds in 19 minutes and Blake Schilb had 17 points and 7 rebounds.  In the win, ex-Illinois player Trent Meacham had 22 points and 6 assists, ex-Ole Miss player Chris Warren had 15 points, and ex-Radford player Chris Oliver had 13 points.  Here is the box score.

  On Sunday, Alana Beard did not dress as Wisla Krakow eliminated Artego Bydgoszcz with an 80-58 win in Game 4 of the Semifinals.  Tina Charles had 11 points and 6 rebounds.  In the loss, Julie McBride had 13 points and 6 steals and ex-LSU player Kristen Morris had 12 points and 9 rebounds.  Here is the box score.

  DeMarcus Nelson and Red Star Belgrade beat Konstantin 96-71.  DeMarcus had 3 points in 22 minutes and Elton Brown had 10 points.  Here is the box score.

  Jon Scheyer and Gran Canaria beat Asefa Estudiantes 72-64.  Jon had a quiet 15 minutes off the bench.  Brad Newley had 19 points and 8 rebounds and Ryan Toolson had 11 points.  In the loss, ex-Iona player Tariq Kirksay had 11 points and ex-Louisville player Kyle Kuric had 10 points.  Here is the box score.

  Real Madrid lost 88-79 to Valencia as they prepare for more important games and still do not have Marty Pocius.  Sergio Llull had 21 points and 6 rebounds.  In the win, ex-Washington State player Thomas Kelati had 21 points.  Here is the box score.

On Monday, Jasmine Thomas and Chevakata tried to advance to the semifinals as they visited Nadezhda Orenburg in Game 2 of the Russian League Quarterfinals, but lost 76-63 to force a decisive Game 3.  Jasmine had 8 points in 35 minutes and Glory Johnson had 17 points and 13 rebounds.  In the win, ex-UConn player Renee Montgomery had 21 points and ex-Auburn player DeWanna Bonner had 19 points and 14 rebounds.  Here is the box score.

Daniel Ewing and Besiktas only have the domestic campaign to pay attention to now and took a big step towards a playoff spot after beating Aliaga 79-66.  Daniel had 8 points and 7 assists in 29 minutes.  In the loss, ex-Xavier player Lionel Chalmers had 19 points, ex-Notre Dame player Torin Francis had 15 points and 11 rebounds, and ex-Illinois player Marcus Arnold had 12 points and 6 rebounds.  Here is the box score.
