On Wednesday, Shay Selby and Strakonice finished their season against Pardubice.  Given that the result had no impact on the final standings, the lineups were shuffled a bit to get the bench players plenty of playing time and they lost the lead that the starters handed them and fell 73-62.  Shay had 9 points in her 12 minutes.  Overall, Shay had a solid first professional season.  If her team could have had for the entire season, they probably would have avoided finishing in the bottom third of the league and could have at least had the experience of competing in the playoffs.  Here is the box score.

Monique Currie and Perfumerias Avenida looked to earn a spot in the finals as they visited Girona in Game 2 of the semifinals.  They had a comfortable lead throughout before surrendering it all in the fourth quarter only to have Monique hit the game-winning basket late to win them the series.  Monique finished with 12 points and 8 rebounds in 27 minutes.  Marta Fernandez had 22 points and Le'Coe Willingham had 20 points and 6 rebounds.  In the loss, ex-Florid State player Jacinta Monroe had 18 points.  Here is the box score.

Euroleague Playoffs continued on Tuesday as the series between FC Barcelona and Panathinaikos shifted from Spain to Greece for Game 3.  The hosts were looking to take an important series lead despite being heavy underdogs after the last round and built a lead before giving it back in the third quarter only to do just enough in the final period to win 65-63.  In the win, ex-Miami of Ohio player Michael Bramos had 14 points and ex-UMass player Stephane Lasme had 11 points and 8 rebounds.  In the loss, ex-NBA player Juan Carlos Navarro had 17 points, ex-Maryland player Sarunas Jasikevicius had 13 points, and Utah Jazz 2008 second round pick Ante Tomic had 12 points and 9 rebounds.
