The Blue Devils are also expected to get a boost from sophomore transfer Rodney Hood and a talented freshman class of Matt Jones, Semi Ojeleye and Jabari Parker. Hood was an All-SEC Freshman Team selection after averaging 10.3 points and 4.8 rebounds per game at Mississippi State in 2010-11. Jones and Parker were both McDonald's All-America picks coming out of high school, while Ojeleye was named 2013 Parade National Player of the Year.
Duke opens the regular season Friday, Nov. 8 with a home contest against Davidson. The Blue Devils will also host three ticketed events prior to the opener with Countdown to Craziness presented by PNC (Oct. 18) and exhibition games against Bowie State (Oct. 26) and Drury (Nov. 2).
Duke's open practice Sept. 28 replaces the annual Duke Coaches Clinic, which will not be held this season due to scheduling conflicts.
General public parking for fans attending the men's basketball open practice is available in the Football General Public Parking lots located on Circuit Drive – Chemistry Lot, Small Circuit Lot, Large Circuit Lot, and PG9. There is a $10 charge to park (cash only) and the lots open at 7 a.m. All football general public parking lots located on Circuit Drive are park and walk lots.
General public parking for persons with disabilities attending the men's basketball open practice is available in the Blue Zone in lots B-2 and B-4. There is a $10 charge to park (cash only) and the lots open at 6 a.m. There will be two (2) ADA lift equipped vans on-site in the B-2 and B-4 lots to transports basketball fans to and from the open practice.
Men's or Women's Basketball Iron Duke parking passes will not be honored for the open practice as it is a football game day. Only Football Iron Duke passes will be honored in the Iron Duke lots. Duke's open practice will be a part of a full day for sports fans in Durham as the football team hosts Troy at 3 p.m. at Wallace Wade Stadium and the volleyball team welcomes Virginia Tech to Cameron Indoor Stadium for a 7:30 p.m. tilt.
