NBA Free Agency Rundown: Duke

There have been several happenings throughout the land of NBA Free Agency over the last few hours with LeBron James going back to Cleveland. With that first domino falling, there are several other transactions ready to begin. Several involving former Blue Devils.

Luol Deng: With the top small forward in the league off the board to Cleveland, the Cavaliers’ previous wing is looking forward to finding his next team. Deng has been courted by Phoenix - the team who drafted him before trading him the same day in 2004 - recently, but with James going back to Cleveland, the Miami Heat are now believed to be in the picture according to Ken Berger of CBS.

Dallas and the LA Lakers are also believed to be in the hunt.

Austin Rivers: Things aren’t as rosy for Rivers, who is in danger of being waived by the New Orleans Pelicans. The team agreed to trade for former Houston center Omer Asik, and need to clear cap space. The Pelicans are also exploring trade options for Rivers who has struggled since leaving %%MATCH_11%% after one season.

Josh McRoberts: As reported last week, McRoberts has agreed to a contract with the Miami Heat. McRoberts chose a four-year, $23 million deal with the Heat over a similar offer to return to Charlotte.

Seth Curry: The former Blue Devil scoring guard is hoping to play his way into a contract with strong play in the NBA Summer League. He recently completed his Orlando session of the league, playing four games and finishing with an average of 9.8 points per game on 50 percent shooting from the perimeter.

Seth boarded a flight to Las Vegas on Friday where he’ll next audition for the Phoenix Suns in the Vegas summer league. Recommended Stories
