The Elk Grove, Calif., freshman opened the week with a 15-point, four-rebound effort in an 86-74 win at NC State Thursday night. In Sunday's 80-66 win over Virginia, Nelson had six points, seven rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots in 28 minutes of playing time.
Nelson, Duke's top reserve, is averaging 7.9 points and ranks second on the team in rebounding at 5.5 rebounds per game. The 6"3' guard also has 12 assists, eight blocked shots and 10 steals on the year.
The Blue Devils return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 19 with an ACC road contest against Miami. Wednesday's contest will be shown nationally on ESPN with tip set for 8:30 p.m.
