Dockery Out with Torn MCL

Sean Dockery

Duke junior guard Sean Dockery will be out indefinitely with a torn medial collateral ligament in his right knee. An MRI examined by Dr. Larry Higgins on Thursday revealed the status of the injury suffered in Duke's 60-56 win over Georgia Tech on Wednesday night in Atlanta.

"We feel badly for Sean," said Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski. "He was having a great year for us and was an integral part of the success we've enjoyed so far. He's one of our fighters."

In helping the seventh-ranked Blue Devils to a 20-4 (10-4 ACC) overall record this season, Dockery played in all 24 games with 19 starts while averaging 6.5 points per game. He is shooting 48.0 percent from the floor, 42.9 percent from three-point range and 76.0 percent from the foul line while ranking third on the team with 56 assists and second with 42 steals.

Duke is next in action on Saturday when it faces St. John's at Madison Square Garden in New York, N.Y. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m., and the game will be televised by ABC.
