Devils Pick up Big Receiver

Jeremy Ringfield

Duke keeps quietly putting together a solid recruiting class getting a commitment from another very good player. This time the Blue Devils got a big wide receiver that could play tight end on the next level.

Jeremy Ringfield of Luella High School has made a commitment to the Duke Blue Devils. At 6-5 and 200 pounds, Ringfield is a huge target that is has better than a 4.0 GPA. He is as accomplished in the classroom as he is on the football field.

"I committed to Duke today," said Ringfield. "It reminds me so much of the program I'm in, and I really enjoy playing for Coach Burgdorf, and I know I'm going to like playing at Duke. I think it's the perfect opportunity for me to capitalize on the best education in the country and to play on an up and coming team. I think I can be an impact player there."

Ringfield was an impact player last year hauling in roughly 40 passes for 500 yards and seven touchdowns. With the graduation of star Senior Johnny Belt, Ringfield will have the bull's-eye squarely on him this year, and it's an opportunity he is looking forward to.

"Yeah, I should get more opportunities this year, and that's all I can ask for is a chance to make a play."

Ringfield will have that chance this year at Luella and beyond at Duke Univeristy.
