Shannon Setting Camp Schedule

Chris Shannon

Chris Shannon continues to see the interest level from several programs rise.

One prospect who is gaining steam since the evaluation period began is Chris Shannon a 6-6, 295-pound offensive lineman from Phillips Academy in Andover, Mass.

Shannon landed early offers from Maryland and Duke, but over the last few weeks Phillips Academy has played host to a bevy of top programs that are possibly on the verge of being the next school to extend him that honor.

"Most recently Notre Dame and Penn State have come by," Phillips said. "Last week Virginia and Duke were here."

Shannon, who is interested in Notre Dame, Michigan, Virginia, Stanford, Penn State, Boston College, Maryland and Duke, has had the opportunity to tour many college campuses on unofficial visits.

"Over spring break I toured Stanford, Michigan, Northwestern, Boston College and Virginia," Shannon began. "I have also been to junior days at Maryland and Duke, and I went to a spring practice at Notre Dame.

"The spring practice at Notre Dame really stood out. I was the only recruit there and it was a real honor to be in presence of a team like that. They are just coming off of a Fiesta Bowl performance (34-20 loss to Ohio State) and you could tell that they were wanting to get back."

Shannon also plans to attend several team camps this summer, and he believes that these camp stops will play an important factor in his final decision.

"I am trying to finalize my schedule, but I want to camp at Notre Dame, Michigan, Virginia, Penn State, Northwestern, Stanford, and Boston College," Shannon reported.

"I am still pretty open. I am excited to get out to these camps and get a first hand look at what some of these schools have to offer. It is going to be a huge factor in helping me decide where my future lies."

Shannon is a versatile lineman who has the ability to long snap and play any of the positions along the offensive line.
