Pocius Scores 20 Per In Euro Championships

Martynas Pocius, a Vilnius, Lithuania, native, averaged 20.0 points per game while shooting 55.4 percent (62-of-112) from the field to guide Lithuania to a 3-5 record and a seventh place finish at the Ostchem Under-20 European Championship (July 14-23).

Pocius finished third in scoring and field goal percentage at the event, while also ranking in the top 10 in free throw percentage (78.8 pct. - 8th) and field goals made (62 - 2nd).

Pocius, who reached double-figures in scoring in all eight games, registered two of the top five single-game scoring efforts in the tournament, including a 34-point effort on 12-of-19 shooting in a 100-94 double-overtime loss to Slovenia. He also knocked down 4-of-5 free throws and grabbed nine rebounds against Slovenia.

He also topped the 30-point mark in a 98-86 win over Bulgaria. Pocius went 10-of-15 from the floor and 9-of-10 from the foul line to score 32 points versus Bulgaria in preliminary action.

In Lithuania's final game at the event, Pocius tallied 25 points and five rebounds to lead the team to an 82-78 win over Greece. He continued his hot shooting in the final game, going 9-of-13 from the field.
