Goldberg, a three-year starter at left tackle for the Blue Devils, reached a deal with the Kansas City Chiefs. He started all 12 games in 2008 and 35 career games. He was a freshman All-ACC selection in 2005 and was named the team’s Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman in 2008.
Riley, a two-time second team All-ACC performer at Duke, agreed to a contract with the Baltimore Ravens. He caught 61 passes for 693 yards and eight touchdowns this past season to earn the team’s Most Outstanding Receiver award. He finished his career ranked in the top 10 at Duke for receptions (7th, 144), receiving yards (2nd, 2,413) and receiving touchdowns (3rd, 22).
There have been five former Duke players to play in Kansas City, including Bob Grupp (P, 1979-82), Mike Junkin (LB, 1989), Bill Khayat (TE, 1996), Shawn Lynch (C, 2002) and Corey Thomas (WR, 2001). Two players former Blue Devils played in Baltimore with Mike Curtis playing linebacker for the Colts from 1965-75 and Matt Zielinski playing defensive tackle for the Ravens from 2004-05.
