Josh Snead Commits to Duke

Sources close to the situation confirm that Josh Snead (5'9, 170, RB) has committed to Duke.

Joshua Snead, a 5-foot-9, 180-pounder, committed to the Duke coaching staff on Monday morning according to sources close to the situation.

Yet to be evaluated for star rating purposes by Scout.com, Snead was part of a high school backfield that accumulated nearly 3,000 yards on the ground last season. He started at wingback, accounted for 780 of those yards, plus 11 touchdowns.

Most of those yards and touchdowns were due to the fact that most high school defensive players have trouble staying with Snead on the ground thanks to elite breakaway speed.

How fast is elite breakaway speed? Try a school-record 10.52 in the 100m and 21.9 in the 200m.

Snead chooses Duke over offers from SGeorgia Tech, NC State, and Wake Forest as well as heavy interest from Auburn, UNC, Oregon, South Carolina, Stanford, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt.
