Carrick Felix made history as the first junior college recruit to ever commit to Mike Krzyzewski's program. Unfortunately, he will not become the first ever JUCO to play for the Duke head coach.
The story was first reported by Fox's Jeff Goodman.
According to sources close to the situation, Felix will not be enrolling at Duke this summer and has re-opened his recruitment effectively immediately.
The Blue Devils will not be a potential option going forward.
The loss of Felix means Duke will likely have an extra scholarship to play with in the class of 2011. Currently it appears as though the Blue Devils will attempt to land a four man class in the current crop of rising seniors.
Two players - 6'6 five star wing Michael Gbinije and 6'10 four star center Tyler Adams - have already committed. Duke is considered a favorite for five star scoring guard Austin Rivers as well.
