Opening night in the NBA saw several former Blue Devils in action with their respective NBA teams.
Elton Brand - LA Clippers – started and played 37 minutes. Scored 21 points while grabbing 15 rebounds, and blocking eight shots as the Clippers fell 109-100 to Seattle.
Corey Maggette - Clippers – started at the small forward slot and contributed 21 points and nine rebounds in the loss.
Christian Laettner - Washington Wizards – came off the bench to log 21 minutes. Scored 10 points while grabbing six rebounds as the Wizards easily beat Chicago 99-74.
Mike Dunleavy – Golden State Warriors – started and logged 38 minutes before fouling out. Scored 14 points and handed out four assists in 95-87 loss to the Mavericks.
Carlos Boozer - Cleveland Cavaliers – started and logged 39 minutes, scoring 14 points while grabbing 11 rebounds as the Cavs lost to the Kings 106-92.
Totals - The former Devils averaged 34 minutes while scoring an average of 16 points on opening night.
